About MeMy name is Jason Millsap and I originally hail from Iowa City, IA where I got my start performing with local community groups such as Young Footliters Act 2 (Disney's Beauty & the Beast), City Circle Acting Company (RENT, Godspell), and Theatre Cedar Rapids (Disney's High School Musical).
In the fall of 2010 I began my studies towards a B.F.A. in Musical Theatre from Drake University in Des Moines, IA where I had the opportunity to stretch my legs as an actor with such roles as Tereus in the US Premiere of If We Were Birds by Erin Shields, Sir Toby Belch in William Shakespeare's classic comedy Twelfth Night, or What You Will, and the villainous Count Carl-Magnus Malcolm in Stephen Sondheim & Hugh Wheeler's A Little Night Music. During my time at Drake I was chosen as one of eight auditioned Acting Apprentice's for Riverside Theatre in the Park's 2013 season in Iowa City, IA. There I participated in workshops with working professionals, performed in two pre-show "Green Show's", and played Cornelius in Shakespeare's Hamlet, while understudying Rosencrantz/Bernardo/Gravedigger II. After a little change of heart I graduated from Drake University in 2014 with a B.F.A. in Acting/Theatre Arts and a minor in Musical Theatre. Following graduation I spent the summer in Springfield, MO playing Ed Carmichael in Tent Theatre's production of You Can't Take it With You. After spending a year in Chicago, IL working with the Chicago Kid's Company, I moved to the Twin Cities in August of 2015. A proud Equity Membership Candidate since 2013. |
